An organizational meeting of producers interested in marketing grass-fed beef was held on March 27, 2007. About 40 producers attended and we have another 60 interested farmers who have signed up to participate. To date, a sub-group, our ”Protocol Development Team” met on May 15 and developed a draft grass-fed definition and protocol.

Grass-Fed Beef Producers to meet March 27 at Arlington

MADISON –On March 27th, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and the University of Wisconsin Extension will facilitate an organizational meeting for grass-fed beef producers at the Arlington Agricultural Research Station. Grass-fed beef is growing in popularity among chefs and consumers nationwide with two regional companies and a number of individual producers and farmer cooperatives producing meat for this niche market.
